Hi guys and gals,
It's been way too long since our last post, but we've been busy. Check out some current action by navigating to our website: www.brotherspainting.biz and following the link to our facebook.
Not so long ago, a good friend of mine asked for a favor. He recently received a record player as a gift, and needed a sweet stand to put it on. He didn't have many restrictions on the design except it being sturdy, and capable of holding a few records. So creatively, I had at it! I could hardly wait to share this Record Player Stand with you. I hoped to make it fun by doing a step by step walk through of the creation process, enjoy!
After talking with my friend, here are some sketches I came up with:
After I looked over his record player and tossed around the ideas, I ended with this:
After review with the crew, we scratched a couple concepts. Removed the plexiglass cover, and decided to use standard drawer glides, opposed to the accordion style. We finalized the plans and put our hands to work! Cut some solid pine legs, and sanded them smooth:
Wrapped them with molding:
Then started work on the base platform:
Trimmed it and attached the legs:
Got some inspiration to trim out the record drawer from an old picture frame:
Attatched the drawer cabinet to the base:Painted some accents and my niece helped paint the curtains:
