Sorry for the wait... Record player stand!!

Hi guys and gals,

It's been way too long since our last post, but we've been busy. Check out some current action by navigating to our website: www.brotherspainting.biz and following the link to our facebook.

Not so long ago, a good friend of mine asked for a favor. He recently received a record player as a gift, and needed a sweet stand to put it on. He didn't have many restrictions on the design except it being sturdy, and capable of holding a few records.  So creatively, I had at it! I could hardly wait to share this Record Player Stand with you.   I hoped to make it fun by doing a step by step walk through of the creation process, enjoy!

After talking with my friend, here are some sketches I came up with:

After I looked over his record player and tossed around the ideas, I ended with this:

After review with the crew, we scratched a couple concepts. Removed the plexiglass cover, and decided to use standard drawer glides, opposed to the accordion style. We finalized the plans and put our hands to work! Cut some solid pine legs, and sanded them smooth:

Wrapped them with molding:

Then started work on the base platform:
Trimmed it and attached the legs:

Got some inspiration to trim out the record drawer from an old picture frame:
Measured out the top and color matched a batch of wood stain:

Attatched the drawer cabinet to the base:
Then the box:

Took a piece of MDF (Medium-density fibreboard) and cut an outline of a curtain for the custom drawer frame. Then put all the pieces together:

Painted some accents and my niece helped paint the curtains:

Stained it, and voilĂ :

This was an exciting and enjoyable project for us at wonderland furniture and brothers painting. I'm thankful for the opportunity to create items like these, and look forward to more in the future!

Decorative Wood Coasters!

Check out the new item we have for sale on Etsy:

1 Year Anniversary!

Hey ladies and gents, I just want to give a shout out to all of you that have supported my small company and have inspired me to continue what I've been doing.  In the next month or so I have some new designs that will be finished & posted on Etsy, be sure to check them out!  I'm focusing on mainly small, simple & crafty items this year seeing that not many people were interested in the bulky stuff.

I'd also like to take this time to post are not only #1 selling item but our ONLY selling item! haha.  Way to go Book Holder, we love you.

For any of you that had a chance to pick up one of these: I would love to hear about what you think, how you've been using it & any questions or comments you may have, spread the love!

New Etsy item?

Hey guys/gals I recently made this Little Red Stepping Stool  with the same plans as the blue wash one, minus the handle grip.  It just seemed like it had too many imperfections to be sold online though, so I've been letting my grand daughter use it to wash her hands in the sink... & get into all sorts of trouble haha.  Let me know if any of you are interested in this piece!
